Gods of light and mercy

You may write whatever you want,
shout whatever you wish,
scream the pain out of your body…

If you don’t surrender,
you stay stuck
in hopeless yearning…

to soften your cravings,
soothe your sorrows
and balm your wounds.

Oh, gods of light and mercy,
whom can I turn to
to smell the blooms of spring
and forget the dark nights of winter?
